Therapy
Our approach at Baltimore Pediatric Psychology encompasses a range of evidence-based modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and behavioral parent training. We prioritize collaboration with parents and caregivers to create personalized plans that address each individual's unique needs. Our services are inclusive and affirming, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds and identities. Additionally, we offer brief consultation services when clinically appropriate and specialize in health psychology, providing support for individuals with medical concerns and their families. Our goal is to help you and your loved ones thrive, both mentally and physically.
Individual Therapy Services:
We provide evidence-based treatment services to individuals (children, adolescents, and young adults) including cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based interventions, and behavioral parent training. We specialize in working with parents and other caregivers collaboratively to develop effective and individualized plans that address each individual’s needs. Dr. Leibowitz believes in sharing research and best practice with families and working together to determine the best way to implement these approaches for each unique family.
Dr. Leibowitz has expertise in working with parents to address children’s behavioral concerns as well as to manage their own stress and coping. We are committed to offering services that are affirming to individuals of all backgrounds and identities.
Common referral concerns include anxiety (including separation anxiety, generalized anxiety, and specific phobias), panic attacks, mood symptoms (including depression and irritability), anger, tantrums and difficulties with emotion regulation, aggressive behavior, attentional concerns and executive functioning deficits, school refusal, social skills deficits, and specific phobias. Sessions can also target sleep concerns, adjustment to new stressors, separation fears, perfectionism, self-esteem, and parenting skills.
Dr. Leibowitz is a PSYPACT provider and can offer telehealth services in 42 states.
Health Psychology:
As a pediatric psychologist, Dr. Leibowitz has expertise in working with individuals with medical concerns, including chronic medical conditions and health anxiety. Services from a health psychology lens can help with medical adherence, coping with chronic medical conditions, manage parent and child stress and anxiety, and target co-occurring anxiety, mood symptoms, and behavioral concerns. Services are provided in collaboration with medical providers when possible. Additional referral concerns can include preparation for procedures (blood draws, MRIs, dentist appointments), sleep problems, and toileting concerns.
Brief Consultation:
When clinically appropriate, brief intervention services (either virtually or in-person) may be offered to target discreet concerns.

Baltimore Pediatric Psychology is out-of-network with all insurance plans. Unless otherwise negotiated, fees are as listed and payment is due at the time service is rendered. Your provider will provide you with superbills (itemized receipts) that may be submitted to your insurance company to request potential reimbursement. It may be helpful to contact your insurance company ahead of time to determine whether you have out-of-network benefits prior to scheduling.

45 minute session: $195
30 minute session: $150

For young children, the initial appointment may be attended by parents only, either virtually or in-person. For older children and adolescents, it is often helpful if they attend as well. You may discuss this with Dr. Leibowitz prior to the first session. Please ensure all paperwork has been completed online prior to the initial appointment. The first session includes gathering information about your (or your child’s) history to gain a thorough understanding of your family and the factors that have brought you to therapy.

With young children, you may want to show pictures of your provider or the office (both shown on this website), before the first appointment. Your child can have the choice whether they would like you to stay in the room or waiting in the waiting room. For therapy services, Dr. Leibowitz often describes herself to young children as a “feelings doctor.” The goal of therapy is to help you and your child to learn skills to help in your day-to-day lives. The first therapy session (after the parent intake) will focus on getting to know each other. It involves talking and may also include playing and coloring. Your child is welcome to bring a fidget or stuffed animal that helps them feel comfortable.
Good Faith Estimate
Under a new law, health care providers are required to give patients who don’t have insurance or are not using insurance for their care a “Good Faith Estimate” of the anticipated costs of care for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services provided by your provider.
This Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care treatment. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur. The Good Faith Estimate only includes costs associated with anticipated treatment items and services, and does not include ancillary services, late or no show fees, or costs incurred from other medical providers (e.g., outside labs, pharmacies).
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill by contacting Baltimore Pediatric Psychology. You can also initiate a dispute resolution process with the US Department of Health and Human Services. For questions or more information about the dispute process, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call CMS at 1-800-985-3059.
